Discord Co-Founder Jason Citron Steps Down as CEO

Discord co-founder Jason Citron is stepping down as CEO after nearly a decade, with Humam Sakhnini, former vice chairman of Activision Blizzard, set to replace him on April 28, 2025. Citron will move into an advisory role, and Sakhnini — who also previously led King after its acquisition by Activision — will take over as Discord reportedly prepares for an IPO.
Launched in 2015, Discord quickly became a go-to platform for gamers and wider communities, offering voice, video, and streaming features. Citron has been at the center of its growth, but the leadership change signals a new phase as the company eyes a public market debut.

RFK Jr. Unveils Plan to Phase Out 8 Food Dyes in the US

The U.S. is moving to ban eight artificial food dyes in a major shakeup for the snack industry. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary announced the plan on April 22, setting a national standard and timeline for companies to phase out synthetic dyes, with revocations starting in the coming weeks.
Makary also revealed dyes like Red 40 will be phased out by the end of next year, part of RFK Jr.’s ‘Make America Healthy Again’ push. The Associated Press notes this process is moving much faster than usual, skipping the long internal reviews that typically slow these changes.

Warner Music Group Files $24M Lawsuit Against Crumbl

Crumbl Cookies, the viral bakery chain known for its rotating menu of cookies, is facing a lawsuit from Warner Music Group over alleged copyright infringement. On April 22, WMG filed a complaint in a Utah District Court, claiming Crumbl used at least 159 of its licensed songs across Instagram and TikTok without permission.
The lawsuit accuses Crumbl of leveraging WMG’s music to boost its brand and drive sales without compensating the label. Founded in 2017 by cousins Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley, Crumbl quickly gained fame on social media — but its massive TikTok presence may now cost the company up to $23.85 million in damages.

Tesla Cars Will Soon Have a “Robotaxi” Mode

Tesla owners will soon be able to turn their cars into “robotaxis” to make extra cash, but there’s a big catch. On April 24, Tesla announced that it's already testing the service with employees in Austin and San Francisco, logging over 1,500 trips and 15,000 miles to refine its Full Self-Driving (FSD) tech and support systems.
The catch? Even though it's branded as “Full Self-Driving,” a human still has to be behind the wheel at all times. Despite years of FSD updates since its 2020 beta launch, Tesla’s autonomous tech still isn’t ready to operate completely on its own.
