Kick, the rising star in live streaming, achieved a record-breaking month in October 2024, showing it can hold its own against industry giants like Twitch. The platform, which prides itself on being the “most rewarding gaming and live streaming platform,” has experienced steady growth since its 2023 launch. However, October saw an astronomical leap in both viewership and platform engagement.
According to data from Streamcharts, Kick’s average viewership surpassed 360.7K in October, marking a 33% increase over the previous month. “Just Chatting” streams were a standout, racking up nearly 59 million hours watched – a 25% rise from September. The IRL category followed closely, seeing a 114% growth that placed it above the once-popular Slots & Casino section in terms of hours watched.
Kick’s success was fueled by high-profile streamers breaking personal records. In the IRL category, streamer N3on led with over 18.4 million hours watched thanks to a 24-hour streaming marathon. Meanwhile, Minecraft saw an astonishing 770% growth, largely driven by creators WestCol and Spreen’s involvement in the “Dedsafio” event, which brought in 21.5 million hours of engagement.
Top individual performances further highlighted Kick’s strong month. N3on and WestCol emerged as the platform’s top streamers, with each racking up over 20 million hours watched — tripling the totals of other popular creators. Notably, Streen, who only began streaming on Kick in late September, quickly became a top three streamer with 6.78 million hours viewed and a personal peak of 248.6K viewers. GTA V streamer sxb also made a strong comeback, re-entering the top ten with over 4 million hours watched after a brief hiatus.
On the female front, October introduced a new leader: GirlOfNox from Argentina, who garnered 1.55 million hours watched, surpassing previous top female streamer Amouranth by a considerable margin.
Kick’s October success underscores its growing appeal and signals that the platform could further intensify its rivalry with Twitch in the coming months. With record-breaking months like this, the streaming world might just be looking at a serious contender.
