Mark Cuban Joins Pokimane Stream to Set the Record Straight on Charity Bid Rumor
It turns out he never placed a $200,000 charity bid to game with her
Mark Cuban made a surprise appearance on a Pokimane stream to clarify a hot topic: he never placed a $200,000 charity bid to game with her. This unexpected crossover happened while Pokimane was chatting with Senator Bernie Sanders and featured other guests like VTuber Sykkuno and Mark Hamill.
The confusion arose during CDawgVA’s annual charity auction, where a bid under the name “Mark Cuban” caught everyone’s attention. When Cuban joined the stream, he quickly put the rumor to rest, stating emphatically, “That was not me.” He added with a chuckle, “You know it wasn’t me because the bid wasn’t high enough.”
With an estimated net worth of $5.7 billion, Cuban's jest wasn't unfounded. The whole situation sparked some humorous reactions from viewers, with one commenting on the absurdity of spending that much money just to play a game with someone. Others joked about Cuban being a “secret tier 3 sub” of Pokimane's.
Following the auction, it came to light that many high bids were actually fraudulent, made with stolen credit cards. This raised suspicions that the bid attributed to Cuban might not be legitimate either, especially since the actual winning bid for a gaming session with Pokimane was only $30,700, made by fellow VTuber Claudia Moneta.
In light of this revelation, it seems likely that the supposed Mark Cuban bid was among the many fakes that surfaced. Perhaps we’ll see the real Mark Cuban making a genuine bid at the next charity auction!
