Scientists Say They've Discovered a New Colour
Researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, have discovered a new color, "Olo," visible only when a laser is directed at your eye. This striking blue-greenish hue, described as the most intense teal imaginable, is beyond the range of natural human vision.
The key to seeing Olo lies in how the laser targets only specific cones in the eye. Unlike normal vision, where overlapping cones create color signals, the laser activates just the M cones, triggering a color experience unlike anything seen before. Five participants, including Berkeley’s Hannah Doyle, were able to witness this groundbreaking discovery.

Dubai Launches All-Expenses-Paid ‘Influencer Academy’
Dubai is going viral with its new "influencer academy," designed to turn hopeful internet stars into pros. The Beautiful Destinations Academy, launching in May 2025, will offer four aspiring influencers a chance to live in Dubai for three months, learning skills like marketing, video editing, and branding, while exploring the city's tourism industry.
During their stay, these students will get an all-expenses-paid luxury apartment, a salary, and access to exclusive locations usually reserved for celebrities. They’ll train five days a week and post freely about their experiences. At the end, they’ll earn a certificate, with the top performers offered a full-time gig at Beautiful Destinations.

Pepsi Changes to Orange, But It’s Hard to Find
Pepsi has unveiled a limited edition change to its iconic cola for the NHL playoffs, turning the drink bright orange in support of the Edmonton Oilers. These bottles, which look like regular Pepsi but with a bold new hue, aren't a new flavor—just a tribute to the team. The color shift also celebrates a historic moment from 1989 when Oilers goaltender Grant Fuhr was set to feature Pepsi's logo on his goalie pads, but the NHL blocked it.
Since the announcement, fans have been scrambling to find the rare orange Pepsi, but it’s been a challenge. Oilers supporters on Reddit and beyond have been calling Pepsi and searching high and low to get their hands on the bottles, making them even more coveted.

Jake Paul to Fight Ex-World Champion Chavez Jr
Jake Paul will face former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a cruiserweight bout on June 28 in California. Paul, 28, with an 11-1 record, is confident he’ll "knock out" Chavez Jr. at the Honda Center, after mostly defeating ex-UFC fighters. His only loss came to Tommy Fury in 2023.
Chavez Jr., 39, the son of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez, has won 53 of his 61 fights but has struggled in recent years, including a loss to Anderson Silva in 2021. Despite this, he’s feeling rejuvenated and ready to prove himself in this high-stakes match. The 10-round fight will see both fighters wear 10oz gloves.
