TikTok’s US Ban Lasted 14 Hours
TikTok was temporarily unavailable in the US for 14 hours after being banned on January 18, 2025. Following President Biden’s legislation requiring ByteDance to divest from TikTok, President-elect Donald Trump announced plans to extend the deadline by 90 days through an executive order. This extension has allowed TikTok to restore service as discussions continue about its future.
Despite the ban taking effect, TikTok is now accessible again. Trump’s plan to delay the enforcement of the ban provides an opportunity to find a solution to keep TikTok operational, while service providers are working with the company to maintain its presence in the country.

Trainwreck Claims He’s the Highest-Paid Streamer
Trainwreck recently claimed that he is the highest-paid streamer in the world “by a long shot,” following accusations of viewbotting. In 2022, he revealed earning $360 million in his first 16 months at Kick, far surpassing other deals like Kick’s $100 million contract with xQc. Despite fluctuating viewer numbers, Trainwreck defended himself by highlighting his fast chat interaction speed compared to similar streamers.
Trainwreck has been outspoken about viewbotting, targeting Twitch for its fraudulent viewership issues. Kick has encountered sophisticated bots costing thousands weekly to operate, with some even engaging in chats. “I’m trying to fix the industry,” Trainwreck stated, emphasizing his dedication to transparency.

Instagram Releases New Feature to See Friends' Liked Reels
Instagram has rolled out a new feature, reintroducing a version of its old “activity” feed tailored for the short-form video era. This update allows users to view Reels their friends have liked or commented on, promoting deeper social interaction through content. The new tab within the Reels feed aims to foster engagement by making it easier to connect over shared interests.
To use this feature, simply open the Reels Tab and tap the friend icon in the top right corner to explore the dedicated feed showcasing friends’ liked Reels. As Instagram continues to introduce new ways for users to connect, this update brings a mix of excitement and privacy concerns among the community.
